Matt was born in the small town of Forlì, Italy.
His love for music started early: he first heard the sound of a banjo on the Muppet Show at age 3. His first Bill Monroe record came four years later, and not long after, he received his first guitar as a Christmas gift.
Since then, he has taught himself to play guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and steel guitar, as well as singing. He has peformed in 17 different countries all over the world, from Europe to the USA and even Russia, and played the major festivals and events of the Country and Rock-A-Billy scene.

After playing with different bands in northern Italy, Matt met veteran singer and guitarist Ruben Minuto in 2008. The two instantly clicked, and started working together in different groups. Eventually, they embarked in a duo project focused on the harmonies of Brother Duet acts and 1940s Country music, still active to this day.

Several years later, in 2014, the fortuitous meeting with Germano Ciavone, Denny Rocchio and Emanuele Valente - three talented musicians from the Molise region of Italy - resulted in the birth of the Truffle Valley Boys, a group dedicated to preserving the sounds of authentic 1950s Blue Grass music. Since then, the band has placed itself at the forefront of the Blue Grass music scene in Europe, performing all over the continent headlining major events and festivals, and their records receiving enthusiastic reviews on publications like Bluegrass Unlimited and Bluegrass Today.
In 2019, the band was included in a permanent exibith on international Blue Grass at the Bluegrass Music Hall Of Fame And Museum in Owensboro, KY.

Always interested in keeping his musical horizons broad within his decades of preference, Matt regularly performs Hillbilly, Honky Tonk and Rock-A-Billy music with some of the top names of the Rockin' scene, such as Charlie Thompson (UK), Jan Svensson (SW), Don Cavalli (FR), Marcel Riesco (USA), Glenn Doran (UK) and numerous others.
He plays fiddle and steel guitar in the Western Swing band Rockin' Bonnie Western Bound Combo and in Shorty Tom & the Longshots, and occasionally performs with his partner Jean as Miss Jean & the Melody Ranch Pals.

He is also a sought-after studio musician, having taken part in a myriad of sessions for artists from Europe and the USA.

Matt's interest in mid-century Country music isn't limited to performing. He has dedicated himself to in-depth research in the field, with a focus on lesser-known, regional Blue Grass bands of the 1940s and 1950s, and the labels that preserved their music.
Matt is an avid record collector with one of the most complete collections of small-label Blue Grass 78RPM records in Europe, and he's in the process of completing a discographical work on the subject.
